Optimal Planning of Secondary Power Distribution Systems Considering Renewable and Storage Sources: An Energy Management Approach

This study focuses on the optimal planning of secondary power distribution systems considering distributed renewable generators (DG) and energy storage (ESS) to minimize expansion costs. The methodology solves a mixed integer non-linear mathematical model that describes problem, including operating technical aspects system. Such uses an iterated local search algorithm two-stage load flow decomposition method solve said problem. finds operation devices low-voltage system for each solution proposed by algorithm; thus, management is achieved best solution. was tested real medium-sized establish its effectiveness. results obtained show reduction 51.97 % in total purchase cost decrease 3.02 installation costs circuits transformers when DG ESS are considered.
